Independence Day 2020 was different, but the pandemic, didn’t stop Kids Joy School from celebrating it! On Friday, August 14th, for the first time since the New Normal, we had all our children join together to celebrate Independence Day via Zoom. The children dressed up in traditional Indian clothes and watched as the flag was hoisted in the school and the national anthem sung together. One of our parents, hoisted the flag and gave a short speech to the children. Many of our JKG and SKG children prepared a line or two about India, and it was our joy to see them speak so confidently. After that, all the children made a ‘Flag Boat’ as their craft and enjoyed sailing it! Our teachers shared briefly about the sacrifice made by our freedom fighters and also what it means to be independent.
