We’ve had an exciting two months at Kids Joy School. In the month of August the theme was colour and the whole school was decorated with bright colours. The kids learnt the primary colours and secondary colours and all the colours in a rainbow! They enjoyed watching different science experiments that involved mixing colours.

A highlight of the month was the fancy dress competition. Many of the children came in elaborate attire dressed as different symbols of India, freedom fighters, etc. The flag was hoisted and the children all sang the national anthem.

In September, the theme was Kerala and the children enjoyed making a collage of a huge Kerala boat together in their different classes. They learnt a couple of Malayalam Songs and the different food, crops, and symbols of Kerala.

September 5th was Teacher’s Day and the children performed a few dances and songs on stage. The Senior KG Class then took on the role of teachers for the day and in pairs went to the different classes and told stories, did craft and exercise. They really enjoyed this time and had the opportunity to step into their teacher’s shoes!
