Our aim is to fully prepare the children for their early pre-school years yet make it full of fun and joy with a natural process of continuity.
In the Junior Kindergarten class, we use a wide range of play activities and maintain a balance between child initiated and adult directed activities. We ensure a broad and balanced approach to Language and Literacy; Mathematics; Personal and Social development. Active learning is matched to the children’s particular needs and interests.
We encourage and closely monitor the children’s development in the following areas:

• Reading & Writing – Correct pronunciation through an effective phonetic system to learn the English alphabet and language
• Mathematics – Practical understanding of numeracy
• Life Sciences – Introducing children to various aspects of daily life and the world
• Creative Development – Art, Craft, Song & Dance
• Physical Development – Gross and fine motor skills, exercise, games, sports, nutrition
• Moral Education – Personal, Social and Emotional Development

A wide range of play activities is conducted at each session to encourage the children to work in groups and independently, cooperating with one another, sharing ideas, feelings and listening to each other. In other words we seek to mould and encourage children in a holistic manner to excel in being who they are

Senior KG aims at preparing children for Primary School. They are given a lot more defined activities in order to help them make a smooth transition from play learning to classroom learning. Emphasis is given in the latter part of the year in training them for interviews in the mainline schools.
The children are taught with high quality visual aids. A variety of teaching methods are used to stimulate all their senses. Besides formal learning they are taken for many outings in the year to ensure that learning is practical. Emphasis is put on speaking the English language – increasing their vocabulary and helping their fluency and diction. They are taught to interact with adults respectfully. All this ensures they have an edge above other children when they go for school interviews.
Individual attention is given to each child and the following areas are covered at a higher level in keeping with their age and development:
• Communication – English Language fluency and articulation
• Reading & Writing – Introduction to reading books, an effective phonics system to enhance their reading skills
• Mathematics – Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
• Technologies and Sciences – Exploring, Discovering and Practical Activities
• Social Studies – Knowledge and Understanding of the world
• Creative Development – Art, Craft, Music, Drama
• Physical Development – Gross and fine motor skills, exercise, games, sports, nutrition
